Black Politics—A study of the black community's historical and contemporary involvement in the political process and its effort to acquire power in American society: black political activity during Reconstruction; an assessment of the black vote as a bloc vote on the national and local levels; case studies of selected black politicians; the inter-action of the civil rights movement and the Black Revolution with black political activity; comparative analyses of the political activity of other ethnic groups; future projections for black political activity as an instrument for integration, a balance of power apparatus or a separatist movement" (Trinity College Bulletin, 1969-1970 (Catalogue Issue), page 36).
